"For man is a tree of the field" - Devarim 20-19

In the spirit of Tu B'Shvat, the Jewish New Year for trees, we would like to embark on a Jewish ancestry project:

Each student will choose one Jewish ancestor or relative whom they would like to write about and provide the following information:

  • Hebrew Name
  • City of birth
  • Relation to student
  • Jewish activities, traditions that they observed
  • Interesting story about their life
  • Pictures connected to person
  • Copies of any special items belonging to that person
  • How they inspire you, what you learned from them

The information should be presented in an artistic way. (i.e. tri- board, poster etc.)

Students will share their findings with their Hebrew School class and their families, in a special presentation on Monday February 13th.

Additionally, 50 miles will be allotted to each participating student, as well as an additional 150 miles for the best project.

Good Luck!
